Fabio Bidini was born in Arezzo, Italy, and received his
first piano lessons at the age of five. He went on to win eleven of the most
important Italian piano competition prizes.
Influenced by Orazio Frugoni and Maria Tipo, he made his
final graduation with »magna cum laude« and was one of the youngest
graduates ever of the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Fabio Bidini has won important international competitions
such as the Busoni Competition in Bolzano/Italy. His success at the
competition of the Van Cliburn Foundation in Fort Worth/Texas marked a
breakthrough leading to an international career. Since then, he has been
acknowledged as one of the foremost young pianists coming from Italy since the rise to fame of Arturo Benedetti
Michelangeli.
In 1992 Fabio Bidini made his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra under Michael Tilson Thomas. Shortly afterwards, he had his highly acclaimed North American debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under Joel Levi. Since then, he has been working continuously with leading international orchestras, in both Europe and the USA. He is a regular guest at international festivals and famous concert halls like Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Festival Hall (London), Rudolfinum (Prague) and Auditorio Nacional de Música (Madrid).
His repertoire includes more than 80 piano concertos and music from baroque to contemporary music for piano solo as well as chamber music. Numerous CD-recordings for leading recording companies give a reference for his varied artistic work.
In addition to his pianistic activities, Fabio Bidini dedicates himself for some time to conducting and within a lot of international Master Classes imparting his artistic experiences. In 2005 he was appointed professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, since 2009 he holds this position at Academy of Music Hanns Eisler, Berlin.
